An easy to make bird feeder using an empty toilet paper tube.

Make a Bird Feeder

This is a great project for very young children as well as older kids. It also works great for group crafts for scouts, Sunday school, summer camp or daycares.

What you will need:

• Cardboard toilet paper roll

• Wax paper or newspaper to work on

• Honey

• Plastic knife

• 2 foot piece of brightly colored yarn

• Paper plate

• Birdseed (use seeds that are small, the larger ones like sunflower seeds fall off).

Here's what you do:

Put the yarn through the hole in the toilet paper roll and lay out on a piece of wax paper or newspaper. Spread the honey all around the outside of the roll. Put birdseed on a paper plate. Roll toilet paper roll in birdseed. Tie a knot in the yarn, and hang on a tree!
