Make beautiful sparkly Christmas ornaments out of glitter and sugar.

Sparkly Christmas Ornaments

These ornaments will sparkle and shine in the glow of Christmas lights. Easy to make this project is great for groups such as scouts, 4-H and daycare.

Make enough to give to everyone in your family.

What you will need:

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon glitter (any color you like but don't use clear)

1 teaspoon water

cookie cutters with backs

bowl

measuring cup

yarn or string (for hanging)

spray sealer (available at hardware or department stores)

straw

What you do:

1. Cut the straw into 4 pieces.

2.Put the sugar into a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon glitter and mix well.

3. Add 1 teaspoon water and mix until the sugar is completely moist.

4. Using a spoon and your fingers press the sugar mix into the cookie cutter. Stick one of the pieces of straw into the top to form a hole for hanging.

5. Very gently tap the ornament carefully onto a flat surface. Let dry overnight.

3. After the ornaments are dry (about 24 hours) spray with the sealer. Make sure you do this outside. Do one side at a time and let dry.

4. When they are completely dry add yarn or string and hang.
