Frosty the SnowmanMake Your Own Frosty - An Easy Kid's Craft
Use Styrofoam balls, some glitter and glue and you will have an indoor Frosty you can enjoy year round.
This super easy Frosty the Snowman craft is so much fun and so easy to do. It is the prefect craft for a group Christmas or winter party. Why not have a snowman party and make a whole family of snowmen and women? So gather a group of friends, get out all those bits and pieces of ribbon, felt and jewels and get started making your very own Frosty the Snowman. Make a Frosty the SnowmanWhat you need:
What you do: 1. You can build your snowman from the Styrofoam balls without adding glitter if you like. But if you would like a real, sparkly snowman you cover your Styrofoam balls with glitter. You can do this several ways:
Allow your Styrofoam balls to dry. This may take several hours so you may want to do this part the day before. 2. Insert a toothpick halfway into the head ball. Now place the head onto the larger Styrofoam ball that is your body. Now you are ready to begin decorating your snowman. 3. Make the face first. Glue on wiggly eyes or use buttons or scrapbooking brads for eyes. You can make a carrot nose by breaking a toothpick in half and dipping it in orange paint. Or color it orange with a marker. Draw a mouth or glue on a yarn mouth. 4. Add a hat or clothes. Use your imagination on this part. Felt or fabric strips make great scarves. A felt circle with sequins makes a great lady's hat. A black plastic cap type lid glued onto a small felt circle is nice for a top hat. Add brads or buttons down the snowman's front. 5. Add twig arms and felt mittens on the end if you like. 6. To get your snowman to sit straight up without wobbling you can carefully slice a very thin layer off the bottom. (ADULTS SHOULD DO THAT PART). You can also push up a small lid, a 2 litre soda lid works great, into the bottom. There are even more snow fun here at Kids Crafts.
