School Spirit Wear Supplies

To make school spirit wear, a few basic supplies are necessary. Materials necessary to create original sports fan gear are: an appropriate sized white t-shirt, iron on transfer sheets, color printer, computer, iron, and ironing board. Fabric paint and iron-patches can also be used to add additional embellishments to school spirit wear.

Recommended Software for Designing Sports Fan Gear

It is not necessary to have expensive graphic design software to create original school spirit shirts. Programs such as Microsoft Word or the free word processing software that comes as a part of the Open Office Suite can be used to create great looking, original designs for sports fan gear.

To use Microsoft Word to create designs, simply insert a digital image or clip art into a standard document. There are numerous web sites that offer free clip art, so be sure to check out what artwork options are available. Or consider creating an original school spirit wear design by using text and drawing tools in the school colors.

Iron-on Transfer Sheet Printing Instructions for Making School Spirit Wear

Print a sample of the completed school spirit wear design on a standard piece of paper. Use this as a template to determine if the design is the right size for the shirt the design will be affixed to. Once satisfied with the design look and size, print the design on the iron-on transfer paper. If the school spirit wear design includes text, be sure to print the iron on transfer by utilizing the printer mirror setting. This will reverse the text so it will read correctly once printed on the shirt.

Carefully follow the directions included with iron-on transfer sheets to iron the design onto the shirt. Time required for ironing on the transfer varies, so be sure to follow the directions provided with the iron-on transfer sheets.

Help kids show their school spirit with this easy school spirit wear project. A wonderful project to work on together, this kids crafts project is a fun way to be creative while making team spirit shirts that any child would be proud to wear.
