Spring break, rainy days - all can have the kids saying "I'm bored." These fun crafts for kids are fun and easy to do and perfect for just such days.
Whether it's spring break or Christmas break, a rainy day or someone has the flu - if you have kids you can bet you will hear at some point "I'm bored." The kids are looking for something to do but you don't want them watching endless hours of TV or video games. Why not break out the craft supplies and get creative?You may even find your self joining in on the fun! Make a Graffiti WallNewspaper offices will often give newsprint end rolls away for free. This is perfect for making a graffiti wall. Cover one section of a long strip of wall with paper. You might want to add a colored border so kids know where the writing is to stop. Pull out the markers, crayons and stickers and let them draw away. You could make a thankful wall, a "my friends" wall, create a castle scene or anything you want. You could even play a fun game allowing everyone to add something to the scene one item at a time. Fingerprint PicturesYou will need:
Directions: Roll your finger across the stamp pad, then stamp you fingerprint onto your paper. What you have is a plain fingerprint, right? Think again! Let your imagination run wild. What you actually have is a tiny mouse, or even a kitty or a dog. You might even have a whole family of mice. Put on your creative thinking cap and use the fine tipped markers to add eyes, nose, whiskers and other fun details. Draw in the background and scenery and create a mouse picnic, astronauts on the moon or a family of peanuts playing in the park. For this fun kid's craft. You can even divide up in teams or everyone can work on their own. Decide on a time limit - ten to fifteen minutes is usually good. Have someone be the official time keeper, mom is usually a good idea. When the timekeeper says go everyone begins creating. Using the materials on the table each person, or team, creates their own wild and wacky monster. They have to work with whatever is on the table and has to stop when the time is up. The more people laying the better. You can even have a monster judging contest. There could be a special award for the funniest, the cutest, the scariest or the silliest monster. You may be surprised at the creatures your kids create!
