Make a "BEE-UTIFUL" Bee!
Your youngsters will be all abuzz about this cute project! A wonderful addition to a summer, insect or flower theme. A good craft to use when studying the letter B.
What you need:
Toilet paper tube
yellow and black poster paints
Styrofoam ball for the head (big enough to glue onto the end of the tube.)
black pipe cleaner
wax paper - (cut out two wings)
What you do:
1. To begin, have each child paint a cardboard tube with yellow poster or tempera paint. When the yellow paint is dry, have him add black paint stripes.
2. When the tube is completely is dry, hot-glue (ADULTS ONLY), or use glue just for Styrofoam, a foam ball to one end of the tube.
3. Fold the pipe cleaner in half and cut into two pieces. Then have the child poke the two pieces of pipe cleaner into the ball for antennae.
4. Instruct him to use a marker to draw a face.
5. Finish the bee by having him glue on waxed paper wings. Buzz, buzz!
