Making Your Own Invitations is Fun and Easy to Do

Instead of buying Christmas party invitations why not make your own? It is a great way to enjoy crafting over the holidays and they look so much nicer!

The Christmas season is a busy time for most families. There are lots of parties, family get-togethers and holiday fun. One of the ways you can get crafty during this fun time of the year is by making your own party invitations. Making your own Christmas party invitations is fun quick and easy. It brings a nice personal touch and lets the kids get involved too, something relatives and friends always enjoy.

Choose a Fun Christmas Theme

Choosing a neat Christmas theme sets the tone for your party and your invitations. There are so many wonderful ideas you can choose from for your holiday party theme. Christmas, Kwanzaa or other winter holidays easily lend themselves to fun themes such as Christmas trees, snowflakes, snowmen, elves, Jack Frost, candy canes, Christmas ornaments, hot chocolate and marshmallows. The ideas are endless! And once you have your theme picked out you can now cut out your ornaments in the same shape – a snowman for a winter party, a candy cane or a Christmas ornament shape for a trim the tree party. You can make them one sided by simply cutting out the shape on colored cardstock or you can trace the design onto a folded card and not cutting all the way around.

Decorating Your Christmas Party Invitations

Next comes the fun part – adding glitter and shine holiday party invitations. Here is where you can get creative! You invitations an be as glitzy as you like or very simply decorated. For example, If your party invitation is in the shape of a Christmas ornament you can decorate it with sequins, glitter, rick rack and ribbon. You can also glue shiny colored foil on top and it will have the look or a real Christmas ball. If you have decided to stick to a regular card shape invitation then decorate it with drawings stickers and clip art that goes along with your theme.

Finishing Your Invitations

To finish up on the inside you need to add all your Christmas party information – when, where and how to get there. If you have any special instructions add these now, too. You can print out something you write up on the computer or you can hand write them. Either way use colorful markers, add a few more stickers and include an envelope for them to send back letting you know if they are coming. Last pop those in the mail and you are all set. Making your own Christmas party invitations is a fun way to get crafty over the holidays.
