Kids love stickers but they are not always wise in their choice of placement of the stickers.

So instead of having stickers stuck to the chairs, tables, floor and cabinets, help kids make a sticker book to fill with all their favorite stickers.

The books are made with wax paper, which allows stickers to be removed from the book and stuck other places if need be. Or kids can take them off and put them back on as a game, which helps work on fine motor skills. A sticker pad and sticker book can also be a great thing to occupy kids during a car or plane ride.

The craft can also be altered to create sketch pads or note pads by using copy paper or notebook paper.

Material Needed

  • Foam sheet
  • Wax paper or interfold deli paper
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Hole punch

Making Sticker Books

  1. Cut two pieces of foam sheet to the desired size of the sticker book. Some dollar type stores carry a pack of precut 4 x 6 foam sheets that work well.
  2. Cut the wax paper into sheets 1/8 of an inch smaller than the foam sheet on all sides. For example, a sticker book that is 4 X 6 inches will have wax paper that is 3 ¾ X 5 ¾. The book can have as many or as few pages as needed. A good number is 12 to 15 pages per book.
  3. Punch two holes at the top of each foam sheet and wax paper. Some hole punchers can punch a hole through the stack of wax paper and two foam sheets, but for others punching out the holes will be a process. Start with one of the foam sheets and pick where the holes will be. After the holes have been punched, line up the other foam sheet with the first sheet and use it as a pattern to punch out holes. Do the same with the wax sheets.
  4. Cut two pieces of ribbon between 3 and 4 inches.
  5. Line all of the holes up with a foam sheet on the top and bottom. Tie one ribbon in each hole.
  6. Fill the book with stickers.

Allow kids to decorate the front cover with glitter glue or foam paint to make it their own or write a special message and give it as a gift. With a pad of stickers, this can be the perfect birthday present for a little girl or boy.

To make a note book exchange the wax paper with notebook paper and for a sketch pad use drawing paper. With a decorative cover, either could be given as a gift for journaling or sketching.
