Cute burlap picture frame is the perfect frame for your favorite fall picture.

Did you go pumpkin picking this year? Do you have a favorite fall picture? If so place it in this picture frame you can make yourself. It's an easy kid's craft that is perfect for groups, such as scouts and Sunday school classes, too. This craft requires simple supplies that can be found at any craft or retail store. You will want to make several of these to give as gifts. Grandma and grandpa will definitely want one!

Fun Pumpkin Frame

What you will need:

  • small wooded shapes - about 1/ 16" thick: in the following sizes: 1 teardrop shape (2 inches), 2 - 1 1/4 circle shapes, 1 - 2 inch ovals
  • green pipe cleaner
  • craft glue
  • several tiny fall leaves - foam shapes or imitation leaves
  • 4 jumbo craft sticks (tongue depressor type)
  • paintbrushes
  • acrylic paints - orange and green
  • fine tip permanent marker
  • burlap scraps
  • raffia
  • 1 - 18 inch length of 19- gauge black wire

What you do:

1. Paint the wooden shape orange. Let dry. Draw a funny face on each pumpkin in pencil then trace over it in permanent marker. Cut a tiny piece of green pipe cleaner for the stem and glue behind each pumpkin. You can also glue on wiggly eyes instead of drawing them.

2. Cut a burlap rectangle just slightly bigger than the craft stick. Glue burlap strip on top of each of the craft sticks. Trim burlap with pinking shears or regular scissors.

3. Glue the burlap covered craft sticks in a frame shape overlapping at the corners. This is your picture frame.

4. Glue your wooden painted pumpkin in a row at the bottom of your picture frame.

5. Glue the leaves where ever you like around the edges of the pumpkin picture frame.

6. Wrap you wire around a pencil to curl it slightly. Bend it in the shape of a hanger and tape the ends to the back of the frame using masking or duct tape. Tie 4 strands of raffia into a bow. Tie this bow onto the wire hanger.

7. Cut your picture to fit the back of the frame. Make sure you leave an edge you can glue down. Add glue carefully to the edge of the right side of the picture. Glue picture onto the back of the frame.
