Fancy Decorated Socks

Materials:

1. Uncuff your socks and turn them inside out. Slip a tube down inside them. We also have used just a piece of cardboard.

2. Put some of each color paint you are going to use out on a paper plate.

3. Decide what type of design you want your socks to have and then start painting!

4. Use a pencil eraser tip to make dots. Dip the edge of a toilet paper tube in paint for rings. Use your old toothbrush and dip it in the paint then flick it with your finger for a splatter painted look . (Watch out, this one can go far!) Use sponges for a mottled look or sponge shapes for an over all theme.

NOTE: Make a matching T-shirt

Make a Button Bracelet

by KidsActivities - used with permission

Need something to do with grandma's old button jar? Here is a fun craft idea.

Here is a fun way to use those old buttons sitting around.

Materials needed:

1. String a button onto the cord. Leave it about 3 inches from the end of the cord. Tie a knot around the button's shank.

2. Keep stringing on more buttons. Tie each one on with a knot. If the end of the cord becomes too frayed to use, just clip off the end with the scissors.

3. As you get close to the end of the cord, loop the bracelet around your wrist to measure it. Stop when the bracelet is long enough to fit loosely around your wrist.

4. Tie the two ends of the cord together to form the bracelet.

5. Cut off any leftover cord.

Editor's NOTE: You could also do this with regular buttons by weaving the elastic up through on from the back and down through the next hole.
