What does your family do when they trim the tree? Read about our family tradition and share your own.

Are you ready to start trimming the tree? My kids sure are. It seems every year I dread more and more digging out the boxes and the tree. Why do I stick the tree way behind everything in storage? But once everything is out and the tree is up it is so worth all the trouble. The smiles of the family and the delight of sitting in the evening around a softly lit Christmas tree can’t be beat.

Many of us have tree trimming traditions at our houses. My mom always trimmed the tree and we were allowed to watch not help except at the last minute when we got to help look for empty spots needing and ornament. I continued that tradition until last year when I let the kids decorate the tree. They had fun but guess what? This year they said, “Can you decorate the tree, Mom, like you always have?” There is something magical about family traditions.

What tradition does your family share? Share them in the discussion area. I would love to hear about them. And check out the Candy Cane Reindeer craft for super easy ornaments even the youngest crafter can help with.

Happy Crafting,

Belinda
